I.
Purpose
The
purposes of the outdoor lighting regulations are to protect
dark skies, to protect the general welfare by controlling the
spillover of light onto adjacent properties, and to protect
the public safety by preventing glare from outdoor light sources.
II. Requirements
- These requirements pertain to all new outdoor lighting applications.
A. All outdoor lighting shall
be controlled to minimize the spillover of light onto adjacent
properties. All outdoor area (non-decorative) lighting shall
be aimed below the horizontal plane except for non-directional
residential lighting such as porch, driveway and walkway lights.
III.
Exemptions
A. All outdoor lighting lawfully
in place prior to the date of this Ordinance shall be grandfathered.
